The Economics of Migration Junior Workshop 

4th Edition

The Junior Workshop on the Economics of Migration is a joint initiative of CERDI, PSE, LISER, the University of Luxembourg, Universidad Carlos III, CEPII, and the IC Migrations.

It offers Ph.D. students and early-stage researchers (post-docs and assistant professors with less than 3 years of experience) an opportunity to share their work in a constructive environment, as well as to exchange the results of recent research in different fields of migration economics. 

This workshop follows the spirit of the online webinar series on the economics of migration, an initiative that was launched in April 2020 to provide a platform for economists working on migration to present their work virtually.

The first edition of the workshop took place on June 15-16, 2023, at the IC Migrations, Paris, France. 

The second edition of the workshop took place on June 25-26, 2024, at the LISER, Belval, Luxembourg. 

The third edition of the workshop took place on June 23-24, 2025, at the CERDI Clermont-Ferrand, France. 

The event is scheduled to be held on May 26-27, 2026, at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Getafe (Madrid), Spain).

February, 1: Deadline for submitting papers

Mid-March: Authors are notified of the selection results

To initiate a new submission, please click on 'New submission' in the left menu. An account will need to be created to start the submission.

Applicants should either be PhD students or have defended their PhD after June 1st 2023.

The author submitting must provide the full names, affiliations, and email addresses of all coauthors for each submission. Please note that each individual may present only one paper during the conference, though they may be listed as a co-author on multiple papers.

There is no registration fee. A conference dinner will be hosted on May 26. The organizers are not in a position to cover travel or accommodation costs.
